Hurricane Shoals Nature Trail

The Hurricane Shoals Nature Trail is one of the best ways to enjoy the rugged beauty of the North Oconee River and enjoy the park. The trail is roughly 2 miles in total length. There are two segments of the trail, the BLUE portion is on the west side of the park starting near the covered bridge and the RED portion is on the east side of the park.

The BLUE trail head and kiosk are located right off of the parking lot near the covered bridge on the interior of the park and the RED trail head and kiosk are located to the left of the miniature golf course. For a copy of the trail map click the PDF icon below or here.

The trail first began in 1979 and has been maintained and worked on many times over the years by the Jackson County Parks and Recreation department as well as local Boy Scout Troops 35 and 158. The trails currently have six benches to sit on and to rest and enjoy the trail. The RED trail portion was completed in 2020 by Bryce Owensby of Troop 35.
